bi-polar escape
sometimes awake in the dark, 2-3a.m. my bipolar depression is waiting & can get quite bad. My escape is to find something, ANYTHING that was or is amusing. one route i have found is to recall everything i can from the comic strip, L'il Abner. so i begin w/ the cast of course, the main one being,L. A. hisself. He had an huge set of shoulders and we always saw him in bib overalls w/ one strap of the pair unfastened. the overalls were worn w/o a shirt, thus displaying his shoulders & amazing muscular development. Then of course, who could forget luscious Daisy Mae, L.A.'s contemporary, last name or family connection we are left to figure out for ourselves. She evidently wore only the blouse w/ the large polka dots, an old one which she had outgrown much to everyone's delight. She evidently had a limited wardrobe, apparently no shoes, nor sandals or footwear of any kind and if she had designs on L.A. she tended to be shy about it. The only covering for the lower part of her seemed to be a set of skimpy shorts, apparently ragged, but well-fitted and definitely short. Among the other ladies we recall Moonbeam McSwine who apparently owned only a black, one-piece, dress, which like daisy mae's was possibly worn out but we might say, smallish, looking outgrown. Moonbeam was about the same proportions as Daisy, maybe even a neighbor or school??mate. among the females was L. A.'s mom of course, Pansey Yokum who seemed to always have a corncob pipe in her mouth, and a strange kind of ruined black bonnet for her head. she was quite small, even little, as was her spouse, Lucifer. They seemed to lack ordinary livestock, such as chickens, but one family member. It was a pig, we may suppose was possibly to be sacrificed sooner or later. Her name was Salome.
